Correct Answer - Option 2 : 4 % loss

Given:

A shopkeeper sells two tables at Rupees 1500 each

Calculation:

Let be assume the cost of tables X and Y respectively

⇒ X × 1.2 = 1500, X = 1250

⇒ Y × 0.8 = 1500, Y = 1875

⇒ The required (loss/profit)% = (1500 + 1500)/(1250 + 1875) × 100 = 96%

⇒ The loss % = 100 - 96 = 4%

∴ The required result will be 4%.
