Let the number of matches be x

Matches won = 60% = \(\frac{3}{5}x\)

Number of matches Lost = 40

Total matches = x + 40

Success rate = Matches won / Total matches

⇒ \(\frac{{\frac{3}{5}x}}{{x + 40}} = \frac{{20}}{{100}}\)

⇒ x = 20

Total matches = 20 + 40 = 60
