Correct Answer - Option 2 : 0.12% of the total cross-sectional area

Explanation

As per IS 456:2000, the limit on minimum reinforcement along either direction has been specified.

In the case of mild steel, minimum reinforcement along either direction shall not be less than 0.15% of the total cross-sectional area of the slab (bD).

In the case of HYSD bars, minimum reinforcement along either direction shall not be less than 0.12% of the total cross-sectional area of the slab (bD).

Also, the maximum diameter of reinforcing bars shall not exceed one-eighth the total thickness of the slab.
