Correct Answer - Option 2 : 1

Calculation:

Cost price of table for the shopkeeper = p

Cost price of table for Amal = (120/100) × p = 1.2p

Cost price of table for Asim = (80/100) × p = 0.8p

Cost price of table for Bimal = (130/100) × 1.2p = 1.56p

Cost price of table for Barun = (70/100) × 0.8p = 0.56p

⇒ x = 1.56p, y = 0.56p

⇒ (x – y)/p = (1.56 – 0.56)p/p = 1

∴ The value of (x – y)/p is 1.
