Correct Answer - Option 1 : 11.52 cm2

Given:

Diagonal AC of a square ABCD is 4.8 cm

Formula Used:

Area of square = a2, a is the side of a square.

d = √2 × a, d is the diagonal of square.

Calculation:

d = √2 × a

⇒ 4.8 = √2 × a

⇒ a = 4.8/√2

Area of square = a2

⇒ Area of square = (4.8/√2)2

⇒ Area of square = (4.8 × 4.8) / 2

⇒ Area of square = 2.4 × 4.8

⇒ Area of square = 11.52 cm2

∴ The area of the square is 11.52cm2
