Correct Answer - Option 2 : 49 m

Given:

The area of the ground = 2041 m2

The perpendicular distance between the parallel sides = 26 m

Formula used:

Area of trapezium = 1/2 × (a + b) × h

a & b are parallel sides of the trapezium

h = perpendicular distance between the parallel sides

Calculation:

let the length of the parallel sides be 10.3x, 5.4x respectively

substituting the values in the formula

2041 = 1/2 × ( 10.3x + 5.4x) × 26

157 = (15.7x)

⇒ x = 10

length of parallel sides

a = 10.3 × 10 = 103 m

b = 5.4 × 10 = 54 m

Difference between the parallel sides = a - b

a - b = 103 - 54 = 49 m

∴The difference between the parallel sides is 49 m
