Correct Answer - Option 3 : 280

GIVEN:

Total marks = 700

A's marks = 150% of B's marks

B's marks = 140% of C's marks

C's marks = 70% of D's marks

Total marks scored by A = 84%

EXPLANATION:

Let marks scored by D be 100.

⇒ C's marks = 70

B's marks = 140/100 × 70 = 98

A's marks = 150/100 × 98 = 147

Also, A's marks = 84% of 700

⇒ A's marks = 84/100 × 700 = 588

1 unit = 588/147

⇒ 1 unit = 4

⇒ C's marks = 4 × 70 = 280

∴ The mark scored by C is 280.
