Correct Answer - Option 3 : 46

Given:

Present age of daughter is 7 years more than the half of the present age of son

Four years ago the ratio of ages of father to son = 21 ∶ 10

The age of daughter is four years less than the half of the father’s age

Calculations:

Let the present ages of father, son, and daughter are F, S and D respectively.

According to the question,

Present age of daughter is 7 years more than half the present age of son

⇒ D = 7 + S/2      ----(1)

Four years ago the ratio of ages of father to son = 21 ∶ 10

⇒ (F – 4)/(S – 4) = 21/10      ----(2)

Age of daughter is four years less than the half of the fathers age

⇒ D = (F/2) – 4      ----(3)

On solving equations (1), (2), and (3)

⇒ F = 46 years

The present age of the father is 46 years
