The correct answer is 5 Years.

  • The term of the President of India is 5 years.

  • Article-52 states that there will be a President of India and Article-53 states that the entire executive powers of the Union shall be vested in the President. According to Article-75, the President appoints other ministers on the advice of the Prime Minister.
  • The President can submit his resignation to the Vice-President even before his term.
  • The President can also be removed before completing his term by impeachment process. The first President of India was Dr. Rajendra Prasad.
