  • It is a branch of the theory of machines that studies the motion of machines, taking into account the forces acting on them.
  • The Dynamics of machine deals with the problems of, the definition of the laws of the motion of the components of mechanisms, control of the motion of the components, determination of frictional losses, determination in the reaction of kinematic pairs, and balancing of machines and mechanisms.
  • Analyses the forces and couples on the members of the machine due to external forces (static force analysis) also analyses the forces and couples due to accelerations of machine members (Dynamic force analysis).

Kinematics of machine

  • Study of motion of the components and basic geometry of the mechanism and is not concerned with the forces which cause or affect motion. The study includes the determination of velocity and acceleration of the machine members
