Correct Answer - Option 3 : Clustered systems are used for high performance computing

1) In asymmetric multiprocessing, the processor are peers.

Given statement is incorrect. In asymmetric multiprocessing, processors are controlled by one central processor or master processor. CPUs are not self scheduling in AMP. In this, master slave approach is used.

2) In symmetric multiplexing, the processors are placed symmetrically on the motherboard

In this, all processors are self scheduling in nature. They share a common memory space. All have same precedence.  These are useful for time sharing systems. So, given statement is incorrect as all processors can do the operating system task.

3) Clustered systems are used for high performance computing.

Clustered system possess multiple processors and are used for high performance computing. Clustered system are the combination of hardware and software clusters.

4) All multiprocessor systems are multicore systems

A  multiprocessor system contains more than one CPU and works in parallel.  A multicore system contain more than one execution core on one CPU. Given statement is incorrect. As, multiprocessor system is broader than a multicore system.
