  • On December 29, 1943, the Azad Hind government of Subhas Chandra Bose took control over the administration of the islands.
  • In December 1943, Subhash Chandra Bose appointed Arcot Doraiswamy Loganadan was appointed as Governor of Andaman and Nicobar islands.
  • Loganadan was in office from December 1943 - 18 August 1945.
  • However, due to differences with the Japanese, he was transferred to Burma(Myanmar).
  • Loganadan was later repatriated to India and held at the Red Fort as part of the Indian National Army trials of 1945.
  • He was acquited and released in 1946.
