Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 2 : 30 Nm

Concept:

The relation between torque transmitted by pinion and number of teeth is given as,

Torque ∝ Number of teeth i.e. \(\frac{T_p}{T_g}=\frac{t_p}{t_g}\)

Calculation:

Given:

Tp = 20 Nm, tp = 40, tg = 60

Therefore, \(\frac{20}{T_g}=\frac{40}{60}\)

Tg = 30 Nm
