Refractory bricks: 

These are made from fire-clay, using the same process as an ordinary clay. They are yellowish or light brown coloured brick.

It is made up of materials which have high melting points and have properties which make them suitable to act as heat resisting barriers between high and low-temperature zones

Water absorption varies from 4-10 % and the compressive strength lies b/w 15 - 20 N/mm2.

It is generally used for the lining blast furnaces, Ovens, Kiln, Boilers and Chimneys.
