Correct Answer - Option 3 : Rs. 10,000

Given:

Rajiv spends 40% of his salary on food, 20% on house rent, 10% on entertainment and 10% on conveyance

Saving = Rs. 2000

Calculation:

Let the salary of Rajiv be 100 units

Expenditure on food = (40/100) × 100 = 40 units

Expenditure on house rent = (20/100) × 100 = 20 units

Expenditure on entertainment = (10/100) × 100 = 10 units

Expenditure on conveyance = (10/100) × 100 = 10 units

Savings = 100 - (40 + 20 + 10 + 10) = 20 units

⇒ 20 units = 2000

⇒ 100 units = 10000

∴ Monthly salary of Rajiv = Rs. 10000
