 The correct answer is option (4) i.e. Tenth Schedule

  • In the Tenth Schedule, we have the provisions as to disqualification on the ground of defection.
  • It was inserted by the 52nd Amendment Act,1985 to the Constitution.
  • Provisions included in the Tenth Schedule regard to the disqualification of MPs and MLAs on the grounds of defection are:
    • If he gives up his membership of a political party voluntarily. 
    • If he votes or abstains from voting in the House, against The WHIP. 
    • If an independently elected member joins any party
    • If a nominated member joins any political party after the end of 6 months.
  • The disqualification questions on the ground of defection is referred to the Speaker or the Chairman of the House his/her decision is final. 
  • In the Eighth Schedule, we have 22 Official Languages.
  • The Eleventh Schedule is related to the Powers, Authorities and Responsibilities of the Panchayats. It has 29 subjects. It is added by the 73rd CAA 1992.
  • The Twelfth Schedule is related to the powers, authorities and responsibilities of the Municipalities. It has 18 subjects. It is added by the 74th  CAA 1992.
