The correct answer is option (1) i.e. Should be a Resident of India.

  • Candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • Should have completed 30 years of age in case of Rajya Sabha and 25 years in case of Lok Sabha.
  • The Candidate must make and subscribe an oath or affirmation before the person authorised by Election Commission.
  • The candidate must be a registered voter of a parliamentary constituency.
  • It is not necessary that a person should be registered as a voter in the same constituency.
  • If a seat is reserved for a Reserved Category, then only a reserved category candidate can fight from there.
