Concept

As per IS 456: 2000, the bearing strength of concrete (fbr) is given by:

 fbr = 0.45 fck (For limit state)

Calculation

 Given, 

 Grade of concrete M20 i.e. fck = 20 MPa  

 ∴ fbr = 0.45 × 20 = 9 MPa
