  • The assembly election in Karnataka was the first to use the new boundaries as drawn by the 2002 delimitation commission. 
  • This election was conducted in three phases in May 2008. 
  • Delimitation commission: 
    • Under the provisions of the Delimitation Commission  ActThe Delimitation commission or Boundary commission of India is established by the Government of India. 
    • It was founded in 1952 by Govt. of India and the Headquarter of this commission in -New Delhi.
