Correct Answer - Option 1 : It does not have a WRITE operation

ROM (Read-only memory):

  • It is a type of non-volatile memory used in computers and other electronic devices.
  • Data stored in ROM cannot be electronically modified after the manufacturing of the memory device.
  • ROM is useful for storing software that is rarely changed during the life of the system also known as firmware.
  • Strictly ROM refers to memory that is hard-wired such as a diode matrix or a mask ROM integrated circuit which cannot be electrically changed after manufacturing.
  • ROM does not have data inputs because it does not have a WRITE operation.
