Broken-brick aggregate

Definition

This type of aggregate is obtained by crushing waste bricks.

Usage

This type of aggregate is used for less important works such as a foundation in light buildings, floorings, walkways.

The density of broken brick aggregate is less compared to the coarse aggregate. Hence used in light-weight reinforced concrete floors.

Broken-brick concrete can be designed to obtained compressive strength(between 15MPa to 35MPa) generally required in practice and such a concrete possesses satisfactory structural properties.

Density

1600-2000 kg/m3
