Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 4 : 0.888 and 0.112 respectively

Concept:

  • Pearlite is a Eutectoid mixture of Ferrite and Cementite
  • Eutectoid reaction is formed at 727°C and 0.8 % of Carbon on cooling the Austenite

\(\nu \mathop \to \limits^{ - \Delta H} \alpha + \mathop {Fe}\nolimits_3 C\)

Here, \(\nu \) = Austenite, \(\alpha \) = Ferrite and \(\mathop {Fe}\nolimits_3 C\) = Cementite

  • The mixture \(\mathop {\alpha + Fe}\nolimits_3 C\) is called the pearlite
  • The mass percentage of \(\alpha \left( {Ferrite} \right) = 88\% \)
  • The mass percentage of \(\mathop {Fe}\nolimits_3 C\left( {Cementite} \right) = 12\% \)
