Correct Answer - Option 1 : Generation of cutter location data

Concept:

Part Programming:

After the introduction of mini-computer in a CNC machine, a new programming language was developed called Automatic part programming which consists of G and M codes.

G - Codes(General purpose codes):

  • G - Codes are used to control the movement of the tool.
  • Ex. G - 00: Rapid traverse
  • G00 indicates that the tool has to travel by taking the shortest path and maximum speed available in the machine.

M - Codes(Miscellaneous or Machine codes):

  • These codes are used to control the things related to machines which are also equally important for machining operation.
  • Ex. M - 01: planned stop
  • It means a temporary stoppage of a machine for a specific duration of time.
