A invested Rs. 35000 in scheme X for 3 years and B invested Rs. 42000 in scheme Y for 2 years. Schemes X and Y give SI at r% and (r - 7)% respectively. The ratio of interest received by A and B is 11 : 6 respectively. If the time period for A and B are reversed, the SI received by B will be what percent of SI received by A?
1. 115.36%
2. 122.72%

Correct Answer - Option 2 : 122.72%

A invested Rs. 35000 in scheme X for 3 years, which gives SI at r%.

B invested Rs. 42000 in scheme Y for 2 years, which gives SI at (r - 7)%.

According to the question:

[35000 × r × 3/100]/[42000 × (r - 7) × 2/100] = 11/6

15r/12(r - 7) = 11/6

15r = 22r - 154

r = 22%

The rate of interest in scheme X = 22%

The rate of interest in scheme Y = 22 - 7 = 15%

Now, the time period for A and B is reversed.

So, the simple interest received by A from scheme X = (35000 × 22 × 2)/100 = Rs. 15400

And the simple interest received by B from scheme Y = (42000 × 15 × 3)/100 = Rs. 18900

Required percentage = (18900/15400) × 100 = 122.72%
