A 200 Ω resistor has a certain colour code. If one replaces the red colour by green in the code, the new resistance will be:
1. 100 Ω
2. 400 Ω

Correct Answer - Option 4 : 500 Ω

Concept:

Resistors are made by carbon. The carbon resistors are compact in size, inexpensive and they have their values which are given by colour coding.

The resistor colour code and its digit are given below:

0 → Black

1 → Brown

2 → Red

3 → Orange

4 → Yellow

5 → Green

6 → Blue

7 → Violet

8 → Grey

9 → White

Calculation:

200 Ω resistor has red colour because 2 defines red colour in resistor colour code.

If the one (band) replaces the red colour by green colour then the code will be 500 Ω because 5 defines green in resistor colour code.
