  • For n-bit data transmission, the number of levels are 2n
  • For n-bit data transmission with data rate of fs, the bit rate is nfs


Calculation:

For 256 levels:

2n = 256

n = 8

The bit rate is given by: nfs

= 8 × 44000

= 352000

The corresponding bit rate is 352000 bits per second
