Direction: Refer the following carefully and answer the question that follows.

During World War II 3.5 lakh citizens of the United States died and 4 lakhs of its armed forces died in foreign countries. Based on these figures it can be said that to be in the armed forces living abroad during World War II was not much dangerous than staying home as a citizen.

Correct Answer - Option 4 : Comparison of death rate per thousand members of each group rather than to the total number of deaths.

If we conclude that relative danger of death was similar for both group from a number of deaths which are similar, then that is ridiculous because here one group was far smaller. D opens this up, misunderstanding with the need to compare the death rates of two groups, which will declare a higher mortality rate for the small group. Therefore, D is the best answer. Because the conclusion recognizes the difference between the number of civilians and armed forces death expresses this difference as a percentage, which is indicated by B, which is not on point. A is inappropriate because it adds a third group to the comparison when the 2 groups are being compared. Because the reason for death is not that C and E are irrelevant.
