A liquid compressed in cylinder has a volume of 0.04 m3 at 50 kg/cm2 and a volume of 0.039 m3 at 150 kg/cm2. The bulk modulus of liquid is
1. 400 kg/cm2
2. 4000 kg/cm2

Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 2 : 4000 kg/cm2

P1 = 50 kg/cm2, P2 = 150 kg/cm2

V1 = 0.04 m3, V2 = 0.39 m3

\(K = - \frac{{VdP}}{{dV}} = - \frac{{0.04\left( {50 - 150} \right)}}{{\left( {0.04 - 0.039} \right)}}\)

= 4000 kg/cm2
