Correct Answer - Option 3 : Disaster can be lead to by drought thereby impacting food production.

The correct answer is Disaster can be lead to by drought thereby impacting food production.
:-

  • The active form of voice is used in the sentence.
  • Hence, it should be changed into the passive voice.
  • With reference to the statement, it describes that drought can lead to a disaster which will impact food production.
  • Let's look at the steps for changing the active voice into passive voice:-
    • The subject of the active voice 'Drought' becomes the object of the passive voice.
    • The object of the active voice 'Disaster' becomes the subject of the passive voice.
    • Since there is a modal verb 'can', therefore the passive voice will follow the given structure:-
      • Active Voice - modal verb + V1
      • Passive Voice - modal verb + be + V3
  • Options 1, 2 and 4 change the meaning of the sentence in the passive voice.

Therefore, the correct passive voice is Disaster can be lead to by drought thereby impacting food production.

  • When we convert active voice to passive voice, three things need to be kept in mind:-
    • Change object into subject.
    • Change subject into object.
    • Always use third form of verb in passive voice.
    • Use 'by' before the new object.
