Correct Answer - Option 1 : Sachidanand Sinha

The Correct Answer is Sachindananda Sinha.

  • On 9 December 1946, the Constituent Assembly held its first meeting.
  • The Muslim League boycotted the conference and insisted on Pakistan's separate state. Therefore only 211 members attended the conference.
  • The oldest member, Dr Sachchidananda Sinha, was elected as the temporary president of the Assembly following the tradition of French.
  • On 11 December 1946, Dr Rajendra Prasad and H C Mukherjee were later elected as President and Vice-President of the Assembly.
  • The Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution of India, and on 16 May 1946, it was enforced under the Cabinet Mission Plan.
