Correct Answer - Option 4 : 2800

Given:

The 5 consecutive even numbers A, B, C, D and E = 52

Formula used:

Average = Sum of observations/Number of observations

Calculation:

Let the 5 consecutive even numbers be x, x + 2, x + 4, x + 6 and x + 8 respectively

According to the question

⇒ x + x + 2 + x + 4 + x + 6 + x + 8 = 5 × 52

⇒ 5x + 20 = 260

⇒ 5x = 240

⇒ x = 48

B = x + 2 = 48 + 2 = 50

E = x + 8 = 48 + 8 = 56

Product of B and E = (50 × 56)

⇒ Rs. 2800

∴ The product of B and E is Rs. 2800
