Correct Answer - Option 1 : Class X examination optional

National Curriculum Framework 2005 (NCF) is one of the four NCF published in India by NCERT. It seeks to reform the curriculum and bring the learning experiences in and outside the classroom.

Examination reforms:

  • Boards considered making the Class X examination optional, thus permitting students continuing in the same school (and who do not need a board certificate) to take an internal school exam instead.
  • Public examinations at the end of Class X and XII should be reviewed with a view to replacing the prevailing text-based and quiz-type questioning, which induces an inordinate level of anxiety and stress and promotes rote learning.

Thus, it is concluded that the National Curriculum Framework, 2005 suggests Class X examination optional examination reform.
