Correct Answer - Option 3 : Rajasthan

The correct answer is Rajasthan.

  •  The state government of Rajasthan launched the long-awaited policy of manufactured sand in January 2021.
  • On 25th January 2021, Rajasthan Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot released Rajasthan M Sand Policy 2021.
  • The policy aims to fulfil the demand for river sand for construction works across the state.
  • The M Sand policy will reduce dependency on the river sand and boost the use and production of M-Sand in Rajasthan.
  • The policy gives industry status to the units producing it for construction work and reduces the dependence on bajri (riverbed sand).
  • The Supreme Court had banned illegal mining on riverbeds in 2017.
  • The policy would help create employment opportunities through new units and resolve the issue of huge quantities of waste generated in the mining areas.
  • The policy will enable the investors to set up M-sand units by utilising the incentives and facilities offered by the State government.
  • It will also help in environmental protection and generate faith among the public in the efficacy of M-sand for construction works.
