Calculation:

Let the number of km traveled after 2 km be n. 

According to question,

Total fare of the bus = 25 × 2 + (25 + 8)n

⇒ 248 = 50 + 33n

⇒ 33n = 248 - 50 = 198

⇒ n = 198/33 = 6

Therefore, the total distance travelled = 2 km + 6 km = 8 km

Hence, the required distance is 8 km.
