Correct Answer - Option 3 : 30

Given:

Number of 25 paise coins and 50 paise coins is equal

Calculation:

Let x be the number of each type

The purse has an equal number of coins

⇒ 25 paise = 1/4 rupee

⇒ 50 paise = 1/2 rupee

According to the question

⇒ (x/4 + x/2) = 22.50

⇒ (x + 2x)/4 = 22.50

⇒ 3x/4 = 22.50

⇒ 3x = 90

⇒ x = (90/3)

⇒ x = 30

∴ The number of coins of each type is 30
