Consider the following statements :

Correct Answer - Option 3 : 1 & 2 are both true.

The correct answer is 1 & 2 are both true.

  • In 1973, the Rajasthan Lokayukta and Up-Lokayukta Ordinance was passed, which came into force on 3 February 1973.
    • The Rajasthan Lokayukta received the assent of the Governor on 26 March 1973 and since then it is as effective in the state as this Act.
    • Then, Justice I.D. Dua became the first Lokayukta of Rajasthan.​

  • Former judge Pratap Krishna Lohra (PK Lohra) has been appointed as the new Lokayukta of Rajasthan.
  • The Lokayukta has been empowered under Section 7 of the Rajasthan Lokayukta and Sub-Lokayukta Act, 1973.

  • Posts & Persons out of scope of Lokayukta:
    • Chief Justice or Judge of a High Court or member of the judicial service as defined in clause (b) of Article 236 of the Constitution,
    • officer or employee of any court in India,
    • Chief Minister, Rajasthan
