Correct Answer - Option 4 : Cu(OH)2 and CuCo3

Explanation:

  • Copper oxide is basic in nature.
  • When the copper vessel is exposed to air for a long time, the metal reacts with moisture and atmospheric gases to form a mixture of copper carbonate and copper hydroxide. This gives green colour to the surface of copper metal.

2 Cu + H2O + CO2 + O2 → Cu (OH)2 + CuCO3

When Copper vessel is exposed to moist air for a long time, it acquires a dull green coating which is a mixture of Cu(OH)2 and CuCO3.
