Time taken when Vini runs 8 steps = 21.0 seconds

Time taken when Vini runs 13 steps = 13.5 seconds

Time saved by increasing 5 steps = 7.5 seconds

Time saved by increasing 1 step = 1.5 seconds

When Vini took 8 steps she saved = (8 × 1.5) 12 seconds

When Vini took 8 steps she saved 12 seconds and it took her 21 seconds to reach platform.

If she had not taken steps she would have taken = 12 + 21 seconds = 33 seconds to reach platform.

Hence, 33 is the correct answer.
