  • The first vaccination was administered by French biologist Louis Pasteur on 6th July 1885.
  • Zoonoses is any disease or infection that can be transmitted naturally from animals to humans.
  • Zoonotic pathogens can be bacterial, viral, or parasitic and can transmit through contact, food, water or Environment.
  • Infectious disease like Ebola, HIV, salmonellosis, avian influenza, and West Nile virus are Zoonotic diseases.

  •  WHO launched a report on World Zoonoses day which was a joint effort by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI)
  • This Report identified seven human mediated factors that is most likely driving the emergence of zoonotic diseases.

    • Unsustainable agricultural intensification,
    • Increased use and exploitation of wildlife,
