  • Indian National Congress
    • It was formed in 1885 by a member of the Imperial Civil Service, A.O. Hume did it.
    • The first meeting of the Indian National Congress was held on 28 December 1885.
    • The first session was held in a hall of Gokuldas Tejpal Sanskrit College in Bombay.
    • Womesh Chandra Banerjee was the first President of the Indian National Congress. He was an Indian barrister.
    • In the first session, 39 out of 72 were lawyers and the trend continued i.e. more than a third of the representatives were from legal backgrounds. Hence option 3 is correct.
