Correct Answer - Option 3 : 10

Given:

2x2 - 6x = 1

Concept used:

(a – b)2 = a+ b2 – 2ab

Calculation:

2x2 - 6x = 1

⇒ x – 3 = 1/2x  [dividing both sides by 2x]

⇒ x – 1/2x = 3

⇒ (x – 1/2x)2 = 9   [squaring both sides]

⇒ x2 + 1/4x2 – 1 = 9

⇒ x2 + 1/4x2 = 10

∴ Required value of  x2 + 1/4x2 is 10
