  • Brahmabandhab Upadhyaya (1861-1907) 
    • Born Bhabanicharan Bandyopadhyaya in Khanyan, Hugli, Brahmabandhab was a fiery patriot from an early age.
    • Under the influence of Keshabchandra Sen, he joined the Brahma Samaj.
    • He founded the Sarasvata-Ayatana in Calcutta in the tradition of the Vedas.
    • He actively supported Rabindranath's ideal of a Brahmavidyalaya and helped to organize the school in its early stages.
    • Brahmabandhab Upadhyay served as the editor of Sandhya during his last days.
    • Following the partition of Bengal in 1905, nationalist beliefs grew in popularity, and various newspapers, notably Sandhya, were active in spreading them.

  • Bhupendra Nath Datta:
    • He was the younger brother of Swami Vivekananda.
    • He was a committed patriot, who found his way to Berlin.
    • During the days of his youth, he had a close association with the Jugantar movement.
    • Until his arrest and imprisonment in the year 1907, he was the editor of Jugantar Patrika (mouthpiece of the Revolutionary Party of Bengal).
  • Satish Chandra Mukhopadhyaya:
    • He was a Gandhian and very close associate of Mahatma Gandhi.
    • Founder of Khadi Prathistan (1925) at Sodepur and associate with  Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray and Bengal Chemical.

    • He also wrote Lord Gauranga or Salvation for All on the mystic-saint Lord Chaitanya.
