Correct Answer - Option 3 : 2 and 3 only

  • Malaria is a disease caused by a plasmodium parasite, transmitted by the bite of infected mosquitoes.
  • People who get malaria are typically very sick with high fevers, shaking chills, and flu-like illness.
  • Usually, people get malaria by being bitten by an infective female Anopheles mosquito.
  • Zika virus disease is mainly spread by mosquitoes. For most people it's a very mild infection and is not harmful. But it may be more serious for pregnant women, as there's evidence it causes birth defects – in particular, abnormally small heads (microcephaly).
  • A person with Zika can transmit the virus to his or her partner(s) through vaginal sex, anal sex, and likely oral sex.
  • Zika has been detected in semen, vaginal fluids, saliva, urine, and breast milk.
  • HIV (Human ImmunoDeficiency virus) caused due to the unprotected sexual contact with the affected person. Direct contact with the blood, from the affected mother to her baby.
  • ELISA test is used for diagnosis. (ELISA - Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay), and also Western Blot is a diagnostic test for AIDS.
  • Medicine - ATZ (Azido Thymidine), Ritonavir, Lamivudine, DDC(DideOxycytidine).

  • Plasmodium vivax is not a virus.
  • It is a protozoan parasite that belongs to the kingdom Protista, which are single-celled eukaryotes.
