  • This is a state of east-central India.
  • Its capital is Raipur.
  • Area 52,199 square miles (135,194 square km).
  • Population (2011) 25,540,196.
  • Chhattisgarh carved out of Madhya Pradesh came into being on 1 November 2000 as the 26th State of the Union.
  • It fulfills the long-cherished demand of the people. In ancient times the region was known as Dakshin-Kausal.
  • This finds mention in Ramayana and Mahabharata also. Between the sixth and twelfth centuries Sarabhpurias, Panduavanshi, Somvanshi, Kalchuri, and Nagvanshi rulers dominated this region. Kalchuris ruled in Chhattisgarh from 980 to 1791 AD. With the advent of the British in 1845, Raipur gained prominence instead of capital Ratanpur.

Areawise Chhattisgarh is the ninth-largest State and population-wise it is the seventeenth state of the nation.

    • ​It is also known as The City of Festivals, is a city located in Bilaspur District in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh.

    • Bilaspur is the Administrative Headquarters of the Bilaspur District and Bilaspur Division. The Chhattisgarh High Court, located at Bodri, District Bilaspur has privileged it with the title Nyayadhani (Law Capital) of the State.

    • It is also an important city for the Indian Railways, as it is the headquarters for South East Central Railway Zone (SECR) and the Bilaspur Railway Division. Bilaspur is the 3rd cleanest and the 4th longest railway station in India.

    • Bilaspur is also the headquarters of South Eastern Coalfields Limited.

  • Bengaluru
