Correct Answer - Option 1 : 48 km/hr

Given:

Ajay covers a certain distance 60 km/h and returns back to the same point at 40 km/h.

Formula used:

Average speed = 2S1S2/(S1 + S2)

Calculation:

According to the question,

The distance is same

Average speed = 2S1S2/(S1 + S2)

S1 = 60 km/hr & S2 = 40 km/h

⇒ 2 × 60 × 40/(60 + 40)

⇒ 4800/100

⇒ 48 km/h

∴ The average speed during the whole journey be 48 km/h.
