Correct Answer - Option 3 : 76.82%

Given:

The ratio of number of teachers and the number of students in a school is 3 : 8.

On a particular day 5% of teachers and 30% of students were absent.

Formula used:

Formula of percentage.

X% of Y = XY/100

Calculation:

Number of teachers : Number of students in a school = 3 : 8

Total = 3 + 8 = 11

So, let total number of people (teachers and students) in the class be 1100

Total number of teachers = 300

Total number of students = 800

Percent of teachers present = (100 – 5) = 95%

Percentage of students present = (100 – 30) = 70%

Number of present teachers = 95/100 × 300 = 285

Number of present students = 70/100 × 800 = 560

Total number of present people (teachers and students) = 285 + 560 = 845

% of present people = 845/1100 × 100

⇒ 76.82%

∴ % of all (teachers and students) who were present was 76.82%
