Correct Answer - Option 1 : 240 ml

Given:

Wine and soda are in the ratio of  7 ∶ 2.

The quantity of wine is 560 ml.

Calculations:

Let the quantity of wine and soda be 7x and 2x respectively.

The quantity of wine is 560ml = 7x

⇒ x = 560/7 = 80

So quantity of soda = 2 × 80 = 160 ml

Let the amount of wine added be y

According to the question,

(560 + y)/160 = 5/1

⇒ 560 + y = 800

⇒ y = 800 - 560 = 240 ml

∴ The quantity of wine to be added to it to make the ratio 5 ∶ 1 is 240 ml
