  • Colorado River is a major river in North America.
    • The river is rising in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, U.S., and flowing generally west and south for 2,330 kilometers into the Gulf of California in northwestern Mexico.
    • Its drainage basin covers 637,000 square kilometers and includes parts of seven states—Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, and California.
  • Damodar River, river in northeastern India, rising with its many tributaries, notably the Bokaro and Konar, in the Chota Nagpur plateau of south-central Bihar state.
    • It follows a generally eastward course for 592 km through West Bengal to join the Hugli River southwest of Kolkata.
  • Nile River is the longest river in the world.
    • It is called the father of African rivers.
    • It rises south of the Equator and flows northward through northeastern Africa to drain into the Mediterranean Sea. 
  • Zambezi River is draining a large portion of south-central Africa.
    • Together with its tributaries, it forms the fourth largest river basin of the continent.
    • The river flows eastward for about 3,540 kilometers from its source on the Central African Plateau to empty into the Indian Ocean.
