Correct Answer - Option 4 : 8 days

Given:

Time taken by Vijay to do 3/4 of a job = 12 days.

Efficiency of Ajay = 2 × Efficiency of Vijay

Calculation:

According to the question,

Time taken by Vijay to do 3/4 of a job = 12 days

⇒ Time taken by Vijay to do 1 job = 12 × (4/3)

⇒ 48/3

⇒ 16 days.

So, Efficiency of Vijay = 1/16

So, Efficiency of Ajay = 2 × Efficiency of Vijay

⇒ 2 × 1/16

⇒ 2/16

⇒ 1/8

Now, Days taken by Ajay to finish the work alone = 1/(1/8)

⇒ 8 days

∴ Ajay will take  8 days to finish the same job alone.
