Correct Answer - Option 2 : 40800

Given:

Total valid votes = 120000

First candidates got valid vote = 60%

Declared invalid votes = 15%

Calculation:

Invalid votes = 15%

Now, we can say that,

Valid votes = 85%

The number of valid votes = 85% of 120000 = 102000      ----(i)

The valid votes got by one candidate = 60%

Now we can say that,

The valid votes got by the second candidate = 40%

From equation (1)

The number of valid votes got by the second candidate,

⇒ 40% of 102000

⇒ 40800

∴ The number of votes got by second candidates is 40800.
